AOD Support Worker
Teisha has been at AWAHS since 2014 and is now the Koori AOD support worker here at AWAHS. She brings lived experience with her to this role, having helped family and friends through hard times. Teisha is responsible for supporting clients on their journeys and walking along side them towards a better future. She loves her job because she gets to work with the community and help those in need. In her spare time, Teisha enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as going fishing and watching the rugby.
Community Health Counsellor/AOD Counsellor
Yvonne is the Community Health Counsellor and AOD Counsellor here at AWAHS and has been since 2015, previously having spent 7 years at St. David’s Care. She is responsible for helping people work through things that have happened in their lives and teaching them ways to deal with things and find answers within themselves to help them move forward in life. Yvonne loves her job because she gets a chance to assist people in changing their lives for the better. In her spare time, Yvonne enjoys reading, music, sport, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Bringing Them Home Worker
Joanne Taylor is the Bringing Them Home worker here at AWAHS and has been with us since 2009. She brings with her 19 years of experience working with Stolen Generation Survivors and family history research. She is responsible for working with the Stolen Generation & their families providing counselling and support with referrals and assessments. Joanne loves her job here at AWAHS because she loves helping her clients find record & family as well as running the support groups. In her spare time, Joanne enjoys sleeping, watching movies, listening to music and relaxing.

Brittany is the SEWB Support Worker here at AWAHS and has been with us since 2016. She is responsible for providing support to the SEWB team. Brittany loves coming to work because she gets to help and interact with the community and she feels like she’s a part of something, and the people around the workplace are a joy to work with. In her spare time, Brittany enjoys playing netball with some of the girls from work as well as catching up with friends and family, shopping and going on road trips.
